Pekanbaru (ANTARA) -

The Indonesian Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) have kicked off a two-week joint exercise at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, aimed at strengthening defense cooperation and enhancing interoperability, officials said on Wednesday.

“This exercise helps us deepen ties between the two air forces while fostering mutual trust and respect between our nations,” said Colonel David Dwi Martin W, Director of Training for the Indonesian Air Force.

The 20th edition of the Manyar Indopura drills was officially opened on Monday at the Pandawa VIP Hall of Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base.

Held annually between the Indonesian Air Force and the RSAF, the exercise serves as a strong symbol of the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Singapore in the field of air defense.

This year’s training includes aerial maneuvers, joint operations and friendly competitions designed to sharpen tactical skills and build teamwork.

Both air forces deployed H225M Caracal helicopters, a versatile transport aircraft central to their fleets.

He noted that the bilateral exercise has consistently strengthened interoperability and solidarity between the two air forces.

Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base Commander Air Commodore Abdul Haris expressed pride in hosting the international-scale event.

“This exercise not only improves technical proficiency but also strengthens the bonds of friendship between our two air forces. We hope all participants carry it out professionally while upholding the highest safety standards,” Haris said.
