Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower Yassierli on Thursday called on businesses to support the National Internship Program for fresh graduates, saying it plays a key role in developing skilled and competitive young talent.

“Through the internship program, companies not only gain access to young talent but also help shape a generation of competent, globally competitive workers,” Yassierli said in a statement.

He said the initiative forms part of the government’s national strategy to accelerate the growth of high-quality human resources capable of adapting to rapid technological changes and future industry demands.

“Private participation in this program is a concrete step toward realizing Asta Cita, especially in building a sovereign, advanced, and prosperous Indonesia,” he added.

The program allows companies to mentor university graduates, prepare them for industry-specific roles, and assess potential hires before offering permanent employment.

“Other benefits include cutting training costs and strengthening the company’s image as a business that supports national development,” Yassierli said.

The Ministry of Manpower is inviting firms to join batch 2 of the 2025 National Internship Program, which offers 80,000 placements nationwide.

“Active participation from the business sector is crucial to bridging the gap between education and employment,” the minister stressed.

Interns will receive a monthly allowance equal to the regional minimum wage through state-owned banks, while the government will cover social security contributions under BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Company registration for batch 2 opened on October 24 and will close on November 5. Firms can apply via the SIAPkerja digital platform at maganghub.kemnaker.go.id.

The government aims to launch the second batch of the 2025 National Internship Program by mid-November.
