Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli has urged the business community to take an active role in supporting the second batch of the National Internship Program, which targets recent university graduates by mid-November 2025.

“In this second batch, we are expanding internship opportunities not only for private companies and state-owned enterprises but also for ministries, institutions, and local governments,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Yassierli, such participation reflects the commitment of companies to the country's social and economic development.

The minister said the government aims to recruit around 80,000 internship participants in this phase, consisting of qualified fresh graduates from various industrial sectors. In the first batch, 20,000 participants joined the program starting on October 13, 2025.

The 2025 National Internship Program is a government initiative designed to enhance the skills and job readiness of university graduates. It also seeks to provide hands-on work experience and encourage stronger business sector participation in national human resource development.

“For six months, interns will receive an allowance equivalent to the minimum wage, disbursed through state-owned banks. They will also be covered by the Employment Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), with contributions fully funded by the government,” he explained.

He noted that companies will also benefit from the program through access to qualified young talent, contributions to human resource development, cost-efficient training, and an effective pre-recruitment mechanism.

Registration for companies participating in the second batch of the National Internship Program opens on October 24 and closes on November 5, 2025.

Interested firms can register through the SIAPkerja digital platform at https://maganghub.kemnaker.go.id.

Earlier, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the National Internship Program is expected to bridge the gap between the education system and the labor market.

“We acknowledge the mismatch between the supply of university graduates and the demand for labor. Through this program, the government aims to bridge the gap by enabling around 8 to 10 percent of fresh graduates to enter the workforce,” he stated.
