Jakarta (ANTARA) - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has called on state civil apparatus (ASN) personnel who have completed Reserve Component (Komcad) training to serve as role models within the ministries and institutions where they work.

"This is your pride, that all of you will show your ministers that the bureaucracy within the ministries and the government of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) has role models, and those role models are all of you," Sjamsoeddin said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, here on Wednesday.

He made the statement when delivering a briefing to 1,773 ASNs who would be inaugurated as Komcad members.

Sjamsoeddin said the presence of ASN Komcad members in every institution is expected to have a positive impact on bureaucratic performance and public services.

According to him, the ASN personnel have gained various lessons during one and a half months of basic military training conducted together with the Indonesian National Military (TNI).

The training covered, among other things, nationalism, patriotism, and professionalism as provisions for carrying out their duties as ASN personnel as well as Komcad members.

Sjamsoeddin said understanding these values is expected to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and dedication to the nation.

He added that a sense of nationalism combined with professionalism would encourage ASN Komcad members to deliver their best performance in their respective workplaces.

A total of 1,773 ASN personnel participating in the Komcad training program came from various government institutions in Jakarta.

The Ministry of Defense has planned to open a second batch of Komcad training for ASN personnel after the completion of the first batch program. The second batch is expected to accommodate up to 2,000 participants.
