Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State oil and gas company Pertamina announced on Thursday its oil and gas output in the January-July 2015 period rose by 9.8 percent to 571,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOE/D) from 520,000 BOE/D in the same period last year.

"Since early 2015, oil and gas production has shown an upward trend," Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communication Wianda Pusponegoro said.

The consolidated oil production of Pertamina averaged 259,740 barrels per day (bpd) in January 2015 and increased to 275,000 bpd in the January-July 2015 period, he said.

The company also saw its gas production increasing from an average of 1,621.46 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) in January 2015 to 1,712 MMSCFD in the January-July 2015 period, he said.

"With the increase, the oil and gas production of Pertamina until July 2015 reached 571,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day," he said.

He added that oil and gas production in the first seven months of this year increased by an average of 7.8 percent to 275,000 bpd from 255,000 bpd in the corresponding period last year.

Gas production rose by an average of 11 percent to 1,712 MMSCFD in January-July 2015 period from 1,540 MMSCFD in the same period of 2014.

The oil and gas production came particularly from PT Pertamina EP (PEP) and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) in the country.(*)
