The nightlife joint venture will open its first venue, Drai's Noir at Cachet Boutique Hotel in Shanghai in December 2015

HONG KONG, Oct. 15, 2015 (Antara/PRNewswire) -- Cachet Hotel Group (CHG) and its joint venture partner Drai's Enterprises (Drai's) today announced expansion plans for Greater China with the unveiling of the venture's first venue, Drai's Noir, opening at Cachet Boutique Hotel in Shanghai in December 2015.

The venture has chosen Shanghai, China for its launch of the first Drai's venue in Asia, on the second floor of the award-winning Cachet Boutique Shanghai hotel. Spanning nearly 1,000 square meters, the venue will include an ultra lounge, exclusive VIP room and a high-energy main room with views of the famous Nanjing Road.

"Shanghai was a natural selection for our first foray into China," said Michael Gruber, president and partner at Drai's. "Such a vibrant and cosmopolitan city is the perfect spot to launch what will be a string of venues in China that will set a new standard for high end nightlife in Asia." Founder and creator Victor Drai adds, "Drai's is an iconic Las Vegas experience and as we envision Drai's Noir in Shanghai I'm using everything that we know about nightlife and entertaining and distilling it to create an exceptional experience everyone can savor."

Designed by Victor Drai himself, Drai's Noir will feature a multi-faceted experience in design, style and ambiance. Comprised of four distinct spaces, the Grand Staircase, Library, Main Living Room and Bedroom, Drai's Noir Shanghai will offer guests an experience unique to the city's thriving entertainment scene. While the Main Living Room will be the pulsating heart of the lounge featuring the best beats spun by celebrity DJs and table service for guests aiming for the spotlight, those looking for a more intimate vibe will find exclusive, intimate niches perfect for smaller groups.

The much anticipated nightlife destination is scheduled to open on December 20, 2015.

The CHG/Drai's partnership is focused on the development and management of Drai's nightlife brands in the most sought after destinations in China, both as a stand-alone venue and within hotels and mixed use developments. The venture plans to open multiple nightclubs, noirs and supper clubs in five new cities per year.

The Drai's portfolio of brands includes:

  • Drai's Nightclub. The venture's core product, Drai's Nightclub is a dazzling, multi-level club of at least 500 square meters - with an expansive dance floor, massive LED lighting systems, state-of-the-art technology and live entertainment performances. Drai's Nightclub will deliver a true day-to-night party spot, featuring bottle service and world-class entertainment.
  • Drai's Noir. Drai's Noir provides sophisticated design and live entertainment in an intimate setting - typical space ranges in size between 300 and 500 square meters. Discerning guests can expect an extensive cocktail list, a library and living room and impeccable service.
  • Drai's Supper Club. Drai's Supper Club is a multi-faceted, design-driven dining and entertainment complex housing a restaurant, banquet facilities, bar and nightclub. Perfect for groups, private parties, weddings and corporate events, the supper club showcases a spectacular dining experience featuring a full sushi bar and perfectly paired cocktails to complement the Asian fusion cuisine.

To helm the partnership's ambitious growth plans, the joint venture has appointed Beijing-based Bryan Meng to Managing Director of Business Development. Meng brings more than ten years of experience in the hotel and entertainment sectors. Prior to Drai's Asia, Meng served as Director of Business Development and in Chinese VIP services at Caesars Entertainment Corporation. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Management from the University of Wisconsin Madison and University of Nevada Las Vegas.

"The opening of the Drai's Noir in Shanghai demonstrates how well this brand resonates with sophisticated Chinese guests desiring a higher standard of nightlife and entertainment options," said Meng, "The goal is to build upon Drai's exceptional quality of product and service and expand into Chinese cities that embody the brand's exclusive and high-energy profile."

The venture's brand value proposition and compelling operating platform has already attracted the interest of real estate ownership groups.

"With respect to Drai's nightlife, we welcome the opportunity to cooperate with all real estate developers, owners and management companies who are seeking to diversify their cash flows by offering an international nightlife experience" said Alexander Mirza, President and CEO of Cachet Hotel Group.

The venture currently has two signed letters of intent to open venues in Hangzhou, and Wuhan and is ambitiously searching for a second standalone location in Shanghai for the development of the group's core product Drai's Nightclub.
