Head of the city investment board office Karsidi said realization of PMDN and PMA in the city reached Rp2.309 trillion in the third quarter of this year.
The PMDN and PMA projects created 8,280 jobs for Indonesian workers, Karsidi said here on Monday.
PMA projects alone, valued at US$87.69 million, opened 4,293 jobs, he said.
He said new investments in Tangerang were dominated by base metal industry,machine and electronic industry, paper and pinrting industries.
Investment security in Tangerang improved as reflected by the decline in criminal cases, he said.
Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said the city has a population of 1.9 million with economic growth above the national average.
"Easy access through toll roads and the International Soekarno-Hatta Airport contribute to rapid industrial growth in the city," the mayor said.
