"We will always help them," Bareskrim Chief Commissioner General Anang Iskandar stated here on Tuesday.
The Bareskrim investigators will work with their counterparts in the KPK to conduct joint investigations, he remarked.
However, he declined to divulge the number of Bareskrim investigators that will be assigned to the KPK.
On Monday, five KPK commissioners visited the National Police Headquarters to meet National Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti to coordinate corruption eradication efforts.
The meeting with the National Police chief was the first of its kind since the five KPK commissioners were inaugurated late last year.
"There must be close cooperation between the KPK, the Attorney Generals Office, and the National Police," Haiti affirmed.
The cooperation among law enforcement agencies is important to ensure that corruption eradication efforts will run well, he emphasized.
"The National Police has several investigators, but it has lesser authority than the KPK in combating corruption," he remarked.
At the meeting, the National Police chief offered assistance to the KPK to handle the large number of corruption cases.
"We offer assistance. They can seek the help of the National Police investigators to settle cases at the KPK, so that they can be solved soon," he added. (*)
