"If we debate diligently, our work will never be finished," President Jokowi said.
Mojokerto, East Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked all elements of the nation to work diligently instead of debating diligently.

"Our people like to debate diligently. I want them to change and to become diligent workers instead of diligent debaters. If we debate diligently, our work will never be finished," the President remarked while inauguration a section of Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road here Saturday.

The Jakarta-Bandung high speed train project of 150 kilometer is being noisily debated, the President pointed out.

"The high speed train project in China has reached 16,500 km, while ours is only 150-km from Jakarta to Bandung but it is noisily debated," the President said in the company of Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and East Java Vice Governor Syaefullah Yusuf.

Indonesia is currently concentrating on two major sectors namely infrastructure and deregulation, Jokowi noted.

"Deregulation needs to be done so that we act quickly in carrying out development. Now we have 42 thousand regulations consisting of presidential regulations, government regulations, ministerial regulations and others," the President said.

This great number of regulations have hampered all components of the nation so that they are not quick to make decisions and act on the field, according to him. (*)
