Diponegoro University has strong and wide-ranging international cooperation programs, the Consul General of Indonesia in Sydney, Yayan GH Mulyana, said.
In order to strengthen inter-university cooperation between Undip and a number of universities in Queensland, Yayan GH Mulyana met with the Rector of Undip, Prof Yos Johan Utama, recently.
The meeting discussed several areas in which Undip and a number of universities in Queensland can cooperate. These included the University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology and the Griffith University.
The potential areas for inter-university cooperation are livestock and agriculture, maritime, nursing and digital economy.
The meeting also discussed the role of Undip and the contribution it can make as part of the Sister Province cooperation program between Central Java province and QLD (Queensland), and the Sister City arrangement between Semarang and Brisbane.
The sister city cooperation program covers agriculture, environmental development, development of urban areas, transport and tourism, industrial and carpentry, trade and investment, education, science and technology, and arts and culture.
The participation of universities, such as Undip, in the cooperation program is expected to provide added value.
