Ewing said he has held a meeting with the South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin to inform him that at least 20 foreign investors are willing to explore cooperation potential in the province.
The investors will explore investment potency of the special economic zone's development and that of the Tanjung Api-Api Port in Banyuasin District.
During the meeting, Ewing and Alex also discussed the visit's agenda.
Additionally, Alex said the local government needs investors to construct a special economic zone.
According to Alex, there are several investors, who have already signed an agreement of investment in the special economic zone.
The Governor said the province needs more energy supply to support the construction of the special economic zone project.
The Chairman of Special Economic Zone Project Management Unit, Regina Ariyanti said the government will construct the industry area for featured products.
Several featured products of the province that need to be showcased properly are rubber and palm oil.
The products can boost the economic development for the people.
