Pontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian army personnel safeguarding the countrys border with Malaysia have foiled an attempt to smuggle two kilograms of crystal meth into the Panga Bintawa of Entikong check-point area, West Kalimantan Province, a military officer said.
"The Indonesian border security task force personnel have captured two suspects," the Chief of Rem 121/ABW military command Brig. Gen. Widodo Iryansyah said on Thursday.
The two drug smugglers riding a motorbike were reportedly caught red-handed on Wednesday after the army personnel got tips from Panga Bintawa villagers, who suspected the two of suspicious activities in their village, he said.
The suspects, only identified as Ewd, 26, and Fb, 41, were questioned and confessed that the two kilograms of the crystal meth was taken from Tebedu, Malaysia, to be smuggled into Entikong, West Kalimantan Province, he said.(*)
