"So, the government will establish a task force to monitor and accelerate the realization of all economic policy packages," Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said here on Tuesday night.
The task forces will be led by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution.
The four task forces are task force of rules settlement led by Presidential Staff Office, task force of cases, issues, and barrier identification under the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security.
Furthermore, the task force of implementation evaluation and policy package assessment to be submitted to the independent team or a non-governmental.
"The task force of publications and dissemination will be led by Home Affairs Ministry and The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)," the minister remarked.
The task forces will disseminate economic policy packages to entrepreneurs as well as investors.
Under his ministry, Hadimuljono should complete ministerial regulation on water supply system.
"The ministry postpones the regulation as waiting for the test of public consultation," the minister stated.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered a comprehensive evaluation of the 12 economic policy packages, issued since September last year.
All sides, particularly the business world, should be involved in such evaluation.
"The president has ordered immediate and comprehensive evaluation of all the economic policy packages by involving Kadin (the Indonesian chamber of commerce and industry), Hipmi (the Indonesian association of young entrepreneurs), business agents and regulators to identify obstacles in various matters," Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said in a press conference held after a limited meeting at the Presidential Office here on Monday evening.
Pramono said in order to implement the 12th economic policy package, the government will draft the terms of reference by learning from countries ranked from first to 30th in the ease of doing business index.
"The president wants Indonesias ease of doing business index to improve to reach 40 in 2016 from the current 109 rank," he said.
To improve the ease of doing business index, the government will set Jakarta and Surabaya as a model for other cities in the country, he said.
"If the two cities are successful, they will be a role model for the rest of the country," he said.
He said the president also wants all the deregulation packages to match the conditions in the field.
"The president is scheduled to directly inspect certain places in Jakarta and Surabaya," he said.(*)
