Cabinet reshuffle is a prerogative right of the president, and information about the reshuffle leaked to the public should be controlled, Pratama D Persadha, the founder and chairman of the Communication and Information System Security Research Center (CISSReC) told ANTARA news agency here on Sunday.
"Cabinet reshuffle is only a plan, but the names of ministers and their positions have been circulated in the social media, said to be leaked from the palace," he said.
He said the unconfirmed reports could create conflicting perceptions leading to unnecessary controversy.
He said the secrecy of some information from the presidential office need to be kept strictly , adding leaks ahead of time could produce disturbing news.
He said 90 percent of the equipment for the security system of information in state institutions in Indonesia including in the state palace is imported.
He suggested auditing of the security of information system in the palace.
"There should be regular maintenance of the system at the state palace . There should be routine evaluation," he said.
He acknowledged that the leaks may not be anything to do with the technology as some officials responsible for the security of information may not have enough sensitivity to the importance of confidential information.(*)
