Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government keeps trying to increase budget allocations for productive spending such as capital expenditures to boost the national economy, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said.

Government spending may serve as a stimulus to economic growth and expenditure performance, he said at a plenary session with the House of Representatives (DPR) to discuss a bill on the accountability and realization of the 2015 state budget at the parliament building here Monday.

The government will always apply a flat policy to its consumptive spending, he said.

The government has taken a number of steps to ensure the budget planning process and improve the absorption of the budget fund, which normally accumulates at the end of year, he said.

"The government has improved the budgeting system, simplified the mechanism to speed up the procurement of goods and services, improved flexibility in realizing the state budget, and increased the competence of human resources in the treasury area at ministries or government institutions," he said.

In addition, the government has also made every effort to improve the tax ratio and achieve the target of tax receipts by providing better services to taxpayers, he said. (*)
