"She has been named as a suspect as of July 30, 2016," Sitompul said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police has named the wife of former East Indonesia Mujahidin Terrorist Group leader Santoso, Umi Delima alias Jumiatun, as a suspect following a series of investigations.

The spokesperson of the National Police, Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul, said here on Friday that the police investigators have revealed that Umi Delima was involved in a series of crimes committed by the terrorist group in Poso, Central Sulawesi Province.

"She has been named as a suspect as of July 30, 2016," Sitompul said.

Jumiatun, who was the second wife of Santoso, said she had joined the terrorist group in January 2015.

The investigators revealed that Jumiatun had known about the plan to kill three civilians in Tangkura, Poso and three other residents of Sausu, Parigi District.

Jumiatun had also helped Santoso to hide his SS2 firearm during a gunfight with the joint military-police Tinombala Taskforce earlier on July.

"Jumiatun had also participated in several training camps such as tadrib, in shootings and bomb throwing actions during her time with Santoso," Sitompul said.

The wife of Santoso, Umi Delima, aka Latifah, aka Jamiatun had surrendered on July 23 before the Operation Tinombala Taskforce personnel.

The woman, while holding Santosos firearm, did not resist when the taskforce personnel arrested her.

Jamiatun was taken into custody by members of the Tinombala Operation task force while conducting a search around Tambarana River in the Poso Pesisir Utara Sub-district, Central Sulawesi Province at around 8:30 a.m. local time on Saturday and was sent to the Bhayangkara hospital for treatment.

Jamiatun is now being detained at the Central Sulawesi Police Office.

After the killing of Santoso, a terrorist fugitive who had led guerilla attacks in the Central Sulawesi town of Poso, the rest of his followers were believed to have been surviving in hideouts in the jungles in the region.

Central Sulawesi Police Chief Brigadier General Rudy Sufahriadi has issued an order, asking the remaining followers of Santoso to surrender immediately as it will be in their best interest.

Entrusted with the charge of the 2016 Tinombala Operations policy in the framework of enforcing the law against the perpetrators of terrorism, Sufahriadi has urged Santosos followers to surrender at the nearest police station or military command post to account for their deeds.

The Central Sulawesi Police chief affirmed that the security forces were committed to humanely treating those who surrender and to uphold human rights during legal proceedings against them.(*)
