Hangzhou, Zhejiang (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Mrs. Iriana Widodo arrived in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, to attend the G20 Summit on September 4-5, 2016.

President Joko Widodo and his entourage arrived at the Xiaoshan International Airport, Hangzhou, at around 1:15 p.m. local time.

Vice Chairman of the Chinese People Political Consultative Conference Wang Jianman Wang Jianman, Vice Mayor of Hangzhou He Guanxia, wife of Indonesian Ambassador Aslida Nurmanthias Rahardjo, among others, welcomed the president.

The presidents entourage includes Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Trikasih Lembong.

Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi remarked that the president is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at 2:55 p.m. local time.

After the meeting, the president will visit Alibaba Groups Corporate Campus at 4:55 p.m. local time.

At the G-20 forum, the president will highlight the importance of information sharing among G-20 member countries, including bringing greater transparency in the international taxation system.

The president also pointed out that Indonesia had encouraged balance and justice in the world trading system.

US President Barrack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and British Prime Minister Theresa May are scheduled to attend the summit in Hangzhou.

Several international organizations have also confirmed their attendance at the G20 Summit.

The local media in England reported that Prime Minister Theresa May and President Putin will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit meeting.(*)
