"I have asked for taking measures to optimize tax collection from regular sources as well as additional income from tax amnesty program," President Jokowi said while chairing a limited cabinet meeting on the State Budget (APBN) 2016 and the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) 2017, at the presidential office here on Friday.
To support such income optimization plans, the head of state also called for intensified efforts to collect non-tax incomes, including arrears, and oil and gas recovery cost.
"Carry out measures to save on spending, consistently in line with the Presidential Instruction (Inpres)," he added.
The government has carried out several improvements to guard the implementation of State Budget, including according priority to productive spending, improving business climate and inviting as many investments as possible, he added. (*)
