DKI Jakartas swimmer Gede Siman Sudartawa came in at 2 minutes 02.98 seconds when he took to the water as the first swimmer in the mens 200-meter backstroke at the Indonesian Education Universitys (UPI) Aquatics Stadium in Bandung on Monday (Sept 19).
He improved his 200-meter backstroke record of 2 minutes 05.01 seconds in the 2012 National Sports Week to 2 minutes 02.98 seconds.
In the womens 200-meter backstroke, West Javas swimmer Yessy V Yosaputra clocked a time of 2 minutes 20.7 seconds to break her own record of 2 minutes 21.34 seconds in the 2012 National Sports Week.
Meanwhile, West Javas swimmer Triadi Fauzi S in the mens 100-meter freestyle recorded a time of 50.49 seconds to break Richard Samberas record of 51.21 seconds in the 1996 Sports Week.
In the womens 100-meter freestyle, East Javas swimmer Ressa Kania Dewi recorded a time of 57.71 seconds to improve Patrisia Yositas record in the 2012 Sports Week.
In the mens 50-meter breaststroke, her compatriot Indra Gunawan clocked a time of 28.60 seconds to improve on his previous record of 28.88 seconds in the 2008 Sports Week.(*)
