"Acehs achievement in the national competition makes the province being Indonesias representative at the international event in Abu Dhabi," Head of Acehs Culture and Tourism Office, Reza Fahlevi, said here on Monday.
He added winning the national competition and competing at the World Halal Travel Awards shows that Aceh is one of halal tourist destinations in the country.
"We should be proud and spirited to build Aceh as the best halal tourist destination in the world," Reza said.
He urges all sides to support Aceh at the awards by voting from October 17 to November 25, 2016.
Aceh won the National Halal Tourism Competition 2016 organized by the Tourism Ministry for three of 15 categories.
The three categories are the best Muslim-friendly cultural tourists destination, the best Muslim traveler-friendly airport (Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport) and the best tourist attraction (Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh).(*)
