Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - The National Electricity Company (PLN) in the East Nusa Tenggara region is promoting the construction of power related infrastructure in three border areas of Indonesia and Timor Leste.

"These locations are Motaain dan Motamasin in Belu district and Wini in North Timor Tengah district," the General Manager of PLN in the East Nusa Tenggara region, Richard Safkaur, said here on Friday.

He added that the PLN has surveyed the three locations.

"We are ready to connect Motaain to electricity supply system. The president is scheduled to visit the region this month," Richard added.

According to him, the construction of the electricity network, providing 240 kilovolt ampere (kVa), will be completed by the second week of October 2016.

Meanwhile, the electricity project in Motamasin is estimated to be completed by the second week of November 2016 and will supply 555 kVa of power.

Richard said these three locations along the countrys area directly bordering Timor Leste.

The PLN is always keen to promote electricity construction to boost national development, and this must start from the border area.(*)
