"We demand our rights. We have not received clarity yet," Kuansing Wn, one of the teachers, said.
The certification funds should have been disbursed in December 2016 as scheduled. However, since they have not received the funds, they decided to stage a peaceful rally.
Kuansing Deputy District Head Halim told the teachers that he did not know exactly why the certification funds have not been paid to them.
Meanwhile, secretary of the Kuansing district government Muharman said the certification funds will be paid to the teachers this year after the funds have been transferred from the central government.
The funds are incorporated to the budget leftover and that the teachers should be patient, he said.
"As teachers we want the pledge to be met," the teacher said.
Muharman said it is the rights of the teachers to stage the peaceful rally which deserved a positive response.
"The Kuansing district government will pay the allowances in 2017," he said.(*)
