"The highest tourist arrivals in North Sulawesi were from China, thanks to direct chartered flights to Manado," Head of the North Sulawesi Statistic Office Moh Edy Mahmud stated here, Friday.
North Sulawesi had received 2,488 Chinese tourists, or 65.13 percent of the total foreign tourists last year.
Singapore stood second, with 348 tourists, or 9.11 percent; followed by the US, with 116 visitors, or 3.04 percent; Malaysia, 102, or 2.67 percent; Germany, 92, or 2.41 percent; the Netherlands, 71, or 1.86 percent; Thailand, 79, or 2.07 percent; Japan, 60, or 1.57 percent; France, 60, or 1.47 percent; and Australia, 51, or 1.34 percent.(*)
