At a separate court hearing led by judge Made Pasek at the Denpasar district court on Tuesday, public prosecutor Oka Ariani Adhi Karini charged the 45-year old Australian with violating article 170 paragraph 2 of the penal code.
"May the judge try her as she has been found guilty of committing a violent act which has led to the death of other person," Oka said.
Sarah and her boy friend David James Taylor have been accused of killing 2nd Adjunct Inspector Wayan Sudarsa. The murder made the public upset.
The murder began when the defendant, Sarah Connor, lost her bag in the beach where she and her boy friend drank beer.
Taylor accused Sudarsa who was on duty in the beach of stealing his girl friends bag. He later searched Sudarsas pockets while asking him to show the bag.
Sudarsa beat David who later hit Sudarsa with a bottle on the back of his head. David also hit Sudarsa on his face with right hand three times. As a result, Sudarsa fell on the sand in the beach. (*)
