"Indonesia is ready to receive the state visit of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Crown Prince, His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who will visit Indonesia this year," Retno said in the press statement of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry released on Tuesday.
The two ministers held the bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Ministerial Meeting at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday evening.
After discussing the planned state visit of the UAE Crown Prince to Indonesia, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in political, security, economic, social and cultural fields.
In September 2015, the governments of Indonesia and UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Eradication of Human Trafficking.
"Indonesia hopes that the two countries could continue cooperation in combating terrorism and other transnational crimes," Retno said.
She said cooperation in intelligence information exchange is among the potential cooperation that the two countries could explore.
She also asked UAE to support Indonesias bid for non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2019-2020 term.(*)
