"I hope the bilateral meeting would strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Poland in the economy and maritime sectors," Jokowi remarked during the meeting with Szydlo at the Conrad Hotel in Beijing.
According to President Jokowi, economic cooperation between the two countries has immense potential to be developed further.
In the meantime, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said the bilateral meeting between the Indonesian president and Polish prime minister was the first of its kind.
"An interesting aspect that we can see regarding the development of cooperation between Indonesia and Poland was a significant increase in the number of Polish tourists visiting Indonesia last year," Marsudi remarked here on Sunday night.
According to the minister, Polish tourist arrivals to Indonesia had increased by 42 percent last year, and it should be supported by an increase in the frequency of direct flights on the Jakarta-Warsaw-Jakarta route in addition to the Warsaw-Denpasar-Warsaw route.
Marsudi said President Jokowi and the Polish prime minister also discussed the strengthening of maritime cooperation in view of the fact that Poland has a strong maritime sector.(*)
