The Indonesians grabbed the victory after Fitriani defeated Mia Blichfeldt in the womens single and Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu that crushed Danish Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christina Pedersen in the womens double.
Fitriani defeated Blichfeldt 22-24, 21-15, 21-14.
In addition, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting defeated Danish player Viktor Axelsen in the second game of the tournament.
Playing in Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre, Gold Coast, Australia, on Wednesday, Axelsen won the game opener with a pretty much amazing score 13-21.
Leading in the first game, Axelsen collected 5-1 points over Ginting in the second game, but Ginting then narrowed the lag into 11-8 in the second game interval.
After the second interval, Ginting equalized 15-15, 16-16, and even followed the acquisition of points from Axelsen to finally win the game 21-17.
In the third game, Axelsen lost 0-3 to Ginting. On Tuesday (May 23), the Indonesian badminton squad lost 1-4 to India at the Sudirman Cup, which will continue till May 28, 2017. (*)
