Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State-Owned Enterprises Ministry (BUMN) collaborated with 14 state-owned companies, Tuesday morning, to distribute 200 thousand food packages at 100 locations simultaneously in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi to help meet the communitys needs.

President Joko Widodo also attended the event and was accompanied by BUMN Minister Rini Soemarno, Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and heads of enterprises, including President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk Suprajarto and President Director of State Electricity Company PT PLN Sofyan Basir.

"BUMN is part of the Indonesian society and has contributed to developing the country without exception. One of the contributions to the country is by distributing 200 thousand food packages at 100 locations simultaneously in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi as a form of BUMNs concern to help those in need of basic food items during Ramadhan this year," Soemarno stated here on Tuesday.

Soemarno along with the president directors of BRI and PLN arrived at around 8:20 a.m. local time at the Al Mubarak Mosque on the Rawa Bebek II Street, West Jakarta, one of the locations where the food items were being distributed.

The 14 state-owned enterprises involved in the distribution program of 200 thousand food packages were BRI, PLN, BNI, Mandiri, BTN, Pertamina, Telkom Indonesia, Wika, Waskita, PP, Jasa Marga, IPC or Pelindo II, Angkasa Pura II, and PGN.

The activity is one of BUMNs agendas that has been implemented annually as part of its responsibility to the country.

A food package from BRI, worth Rp350 thousand, contained five kilograms of rice, a liter of cooking oil, a kilogram of sugar, 600 millimeters of syrup, a box of instant noodles, a bottle of syrup, biscuits, and butter.(*)
