Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has deplored the missile launch test by North Korea on Tuesday (July 4), the foreign ministry said in a press release received here on Wednesday.

The Indonesian government thinks that the test was not in line with the spirit of creating peace and stability in the region and in the world, it stated.

It reiterated that the test ran counter to the obligation of North Korea towards the UN Security Council resolution, especially Resolution 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016), and 2356 (2017).

In view of that, Indonesia urged North Korea to fully meet its international obligations, including fully implementing the UN Security Council resolutions.

Apart from that, the Indonesian government also appealed to all parties to exercise restraint to prevent tension in the region.

The Indonesian government reiterated that stability in the Korean Peninsula would contribute to creating peace and stability in the region.
