"Indonesia will maintain its consistency, as we do not wish to see a particular country continuously perform activities that go against the United Nations Security Councils (UNSC) resolutions," the minister stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
She further explained that Indonesia, along with a number of other countries, will carry out a discussion with regard to North Koreas disobedience towards the UNSCs resolutions.
A number of foreign ministers and country leaders will meet at the UNs Assembly in New York in Sept.
"I am sure the issue around North Korea will be discussed in the Assembly in Sept," Marsudi stated.
The Indonesian government has affirmed that the missile test, carried out by North Korea, goes against the countrys liability to abide by the UNSCs resolutions, specifically the ones bearing the number 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016), 2356 (2017), and 2371 (2017).
Indonesia urges North Korea to fully abide by its international obligations, including in performing the UNSCs resolutions.
Moreover, Indonesia reaffirms that it is imperative for the stability to be maintained in the Korean Peninsula.
For that reason, Indonesia has called on all countries to contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in the peninsula and at the same time restrain themselves from carrying out acts that could heighten tension in the region.(*)
