Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) of the West Java chapter office said that six people had drowned in a boat accident in the Cirata Lake of Purwakarta District.

"On the first day of search operations, six bodies were recovered from the lake," said Joshua Banjarnahor, Basarnas` coordinator of public relations, Thursday night.

There were four women and two men among the dead. The four women were identified as Rus (50), Cicah (60), Iyat (60), and Siti (10), while the two men were Dadang (60) and Dudun (8).

The six victims were part of a group of 21 farmers from the Kampung Rawa Taal, Purwakarta, who were on their way home on the boat passing through the Cirata Lake.

Joshua added that the accident occurred when the boat developed a leak while crossing the lake.
