Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta administration has managed to collect Rp36.1 trillion in taxes in 2017, surpassing its target of 35.3 trillion by Rp1.2 trillion.

"It is thanks to the hard work of all officers of the regional retribution tax office. Hence, I would like to congratulate and thank them for the achievement," Anies Baswedan, Jakarta`s governor, noted during a visit to the Central Jakarta tax office, here, Tuesday.

As a mark of gratitude for the success achieved in realizing the tax target at 103.54 percent, the Jakarta tax office offered donations to poor and orphaned children and invited Ustadz Arifin Ilham to lead a prayer.

"I positively laud this noble event today, and I hope the achievement would be further improved, qualitatively and quantitatively, in the coming years," the governor emphasized.

Tax income has increased from Rp27 trillion in 2014, to Rp29 trillion in 2015, Rp31 trillion in 2016, and to Rp36.1 trillion in 2017.

The increase was six percent annually, from 2014 to 2016, and eight percent, or Rp5.2 trillion, in 2017.

The realization of advertisement taxes reached 106 percent and property taxes, 121 percent.
