Meulaboh, Aceh (ANTARA News) - The joint Search and Rescue Team successfully evacuated a unit of fishing boat, along with three crew members on board in the middle of the sea in Aceh Jaya district, Aceh province.

Coordinator of the Meulaboh Search and Rescue Team (SAR) Dwi Hetno, said here on Tuesday night, that the ship was unable to sail due to its engine trouble, causing it to wobble and needed to be pulled to the coast.

"The joint SAR team succeeded in pulling the boat to Kuala Rigaih Setia Bakti Sub-district, Aceh Jaya District this night," he said through a written report received by Antara.

The report revealed that all three boat crew members survived after being stranded for a couple of days.

The three victims were identified as Zul (35) from Meureubo Village, West Aceh, Acim (27) resident of Blang Beurandang, Johan Pahlawan and Nurdin (27) resident of Ujong Kalak, Johan Pahlawan sub-district, West Aceh.

Dwi Hetno stated that the estimated distance from Meulaboh waters to the location of where the ship was found was about 40 miles from the coast of West Aceh or approximately 20 miles from the coast of Aceh Jaya.
