Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo arrived in Bangladesh on Saturday, following his state visit to Pakistan on the same day.

The Indonesian president and his entourage arrived at Dhaka international airport, Hazrat Shahjalal, in Bangladesh, at 04:20 p.m. local time or at 05.20 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard time or WIB, aboard the Presidential plane of Indonesia-1, after flying for two hours and 40 minutes from Pakistan, according to Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bei Machmudin in a press release.

Jokowi and Iriana were welcomed by the President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid and his wife Rasyidah Khanam at the airport.

Later, Jokowi and the president of Bangladesh headed for the Honorary Dais to attend the state ceremony.

From the airport, the head of state and the first lady proceeded to the hotel where they stay while in Dhaka.

Later in the day, Jokowi received a courtesy call of the Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali in the hotel where the president stays.

The meeting between Jokowi and Hamid was scheduled to be held in the Credential Hall, Bangabhan Presidential Palace, at night, followed by a gala dinner.

During the state visit, Jokowi was also accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita.

Earlier, before arriving in Bangladesh, Jokowi held a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday.
