Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Ministry of Youths and Sports has called on all sport committees to reconsider their plans on sending the athletes to South Korea for a special training program ahead the Asian Games this year.

Mulyana, the ministry`s deputy of sports performance said in Jakarta, Thursday that the training program may reveal the country`s tactic to other competitors, including South Korea.

"If we send our athletes to the competitor (South Korea), it may learn about our preparation and performance ahead of the games," Mulyana noted in Jakarta, Thursday (Feb 22).

Despite of the concern, the Sports Ministry will let each sport committee to make its own decision, whether to send the athletes to the South Korea.

"This training program (in South Korea) should be reviewed properly, and we have to determine which athletes that are needed to be sent aboard," he remarked.

The National Sports Committee (KONI) earlier has announced that it will send athletes of some sports categories for the 18th Asian Games preparation.

"We are now arranging the schedule for the training program," the KONI chairman Tono Suratman.

During its visit to South Korea, the national sports committee has signed an agreement on the special training program with the Chungcheongbuk-do Governor Si Jong Lee.

The Indonesian athletes, the committee stated will join some drilling programs created by the South Korean National Training Center.

Designed to pack 1,150 people, the training center is comprised of 37 sport venues.

For the training program, only athletes of Taekwondo, wrestling, lifting, golf, and handball, that will be sent aboard.

On Aug to Sep this year, the 18th Asian Games will be first ever hosted in two cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

This month, the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC), has launched trials for several categories, including basketball, Taekwondo, and Pencak Silat.
