Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A member of the ruling coalition pledging support for reelection of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) called for talks on the mechanism to elect a running mate of Jokowi in the forthcoming presidential race in 2019.

"We hope at least there should be agreement on the mechanism to elect the candidate for vice president in April, certainly involving Jokowi in the selection," a member of the Central Executive Board of Golkar party Ahmad Doli Kurnia said here on Tuesday.

It may be necessary to consider phases of collection of candidates and nomination of a candidate, Ahmad Doli added.

He said the phases are necessary to develop a democratic system that the nomination is a true result of interaction among political parties.

In addition through the phases of the selection and nomination the candidates would prepare themselves especially in vision in line with Jokowi`s vision, he said.

It is also to be considered the track record of the candidates and whether their electability would contribute to the electability of Jokowi, he said.

He said though Golkar has made clear its position that Jokowi has the final say about his running mate, Golkar is ready if Jokowi`s choice falls on Golkar.

He said internal talk supporting candidacy of Golkar general chairman Airlangga Hartarto is not mere power orientation.

"We have prepared Indonesian Vision 2030, as a target to make complete the Concept of Indonesia Prosperity State 2045, which was already prepared by Golkar since the last period," he said.

The Indonesian Vision 2030 to be launched soon formulated on directives from President Jokowi and related to the position of Airlangga as Industry Minister would be in one package with Golkar`s candidate for President and Vice President, he said.

Meanwhile, Golkar has formed groups of volunteers supporting Jokowi such as Jangkar Bejo and Gojo.

"Golkar has been ready in facing regional elections as well as presidential election, software and hardware. Ready with human resources , vision and concepts," Doli said.

PDI-P, Nasdem PPP have pledged support for Jokowi`s reelection , but three other ruling coalition parties, PKB, Hanura and PAN have yet to announce their position.
