Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An Indonesian student, Nanda Ridho Romadhon Al Hafidz, has won the first prize in a national Quran Recitation Competition (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran) held in Kuwait.

The first prize was presented to Romadhon on Saturday (April 7) after winning the category of 15 juz (divisions) of the Quran Recitation Competition, held by Bani Hajer Charity, a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait City on Monday.

Romadhon is the eldest son of Suli Hamdani, who is a nurse in the Hospital of Kuwait and also a former head of Takmir of Masjid Indonesia in Kuwait.

During his study in the Kuwait University, Romadhon also teaches Al-Quran to Indonesian diaspora during his spare time.

The MTQ was held on March 16 and 17 and participated by 238 male participants and 156 female participants from several countries such as Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Benin, and the Philippines.
