Solo, C Java (ANTARA News) - Post-fasting Lebaran travelers are advised to take care of sensitive areas when they travel to hometown to celebrate the post-fasting month of Ramadan festivities or Lebaran next month.

"The risky areas for toll roads are the Cipali toll road sections," Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said here on Sunday.

The minister said that other risky areas apart from the Cipali toll roads are the Marak roads and those leading to the Garut direction in West Java.

He said that his side has conducted monitoring on the risky areas when he conducted a touring program sometime ago.

"In general, all parts of roads have been in good condition. But travelers are still advised to be careful," he said.

He said most often accidents happened with buses and trucks so that they should conduct ramp checks.

"If they do not conduct ramp checks their operations will be stopped," he added.

He also urged travelers who plan to travel on motorcycles to better use public transport.

"Motorcycles have so far become one of the major contributors to the accident, so we recommend that people take advantage of our free homecoming program," he said.

Meanwhile, his side together with the Ministry of Health also coordinates to prepare health care teams to be placed at traffic gridlock points.

"The Ministry of Health plans to make a number of command posts along with police posts," he said.

Millions of lebaran travelers usually return home to celebrate the Idul Fitri or Lebaran holidays after the fasting month of Ramadan.

This year, the fasting month is predicted to start on May 17 and will end on June 14 followed by two days of celebrations.
