"I called on the House of Representatives and ministries related to the revision on law on anti-terrorism that we have submitted in February 2016," the president said on the sideline of a national meeting of local and central government administration here on Monday.
Joko Widodo or Jokowi as he popularly known said, the draft law could be approved in the parliament session on May 18.
The law is expected to support the Indonesian Police in the combat against terrorism.
"If (the draft law) could not be approved by the end of the session in June, I will issue a Presidential Decree," he remarked.
Earlier on the day, a bomb has exploded at the front gate of Surabaya police headquarters. Six persons were reportedly injured in the incident, but there is no further information yet whether it has claimed lives.
On Sunday morning, three bomb attacks occurred in three churches in the city, killing 14 people.
Later on Sunday night, one bomb exploded in its neighboring city of Sidoarjo killing three persons.
