"We demand that the panel of judges award death sentence to the defendant Aman Abdurrahman," prosecutor Anita noted in a trial in the South Jakarta Court here on Friday.
The leader of Jamaah Ansharud Daulah was allegedly responsible for the terror attack on Thamrin Street, Central Jakarta, in which several lives were lost and had masterminded some other terror attacks in Indonesia.
The prosecutors have also demanded the panel of judges to offer compensation to victims of the terror attacks.
Abdurrahman has violated article 7 of Law No. 15 of 2003 on anti-terrorism for which a life or death sentence may be awarded.
In 2010, Abdurrahman was arrested in Tangerang for his involvement in a military training in Aceh. Earlier, in 2003, he was arrested for a bomb case in Cimanggis and released in 2008.
