"Our hope, students who have completed this course can contribute in realizing a prosperous and strong Indonesian economy to create a better Indonesian society."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The collaboration of study on maritime between an Indonesian higher educational institution, London School of Public Relations (LSPR) Jakarta, and Coventry University, the United Kingdom, supports the Indonesian government's programs.
"What we have done here has never been done by other universities and the collaboration on maritime studies has supported the government`s program of President Joko Widodo," LSPR`s Lecturer and Professional Postgraduate Programme Director, Adam J. Fenton, said here on Saturday night (June 30).
The cooperation between LSPR and Coventry University is realized in the form of guest lecturing for post-graduate students with a subject of Challenges to Maritime Sustainable Development.
The course was delivered by LSPR`s lecturer Adam J Fenton and a lecturer from Coventry University, Ioannis Chapsos.
"Our hope, students who have completed this course can contribute in realizing a prosperous and strong Indonesian economy to create a better Indonesian society," Fenton said.
He explained that the number of students interested in participating in the maritime course continues to increase.
"Last year there were 16 students participated in this lecture, and next year there will be about 50 students," Fenton noted.
In connection with the cooperation programs that will be built by LSPR and Coventry University in the future, Fenton said currently, both parties are developing doctoral education programs.
"We hope that students who are currently completing their master program studies can continue their education to the doctoral level. We are currently developing it with Coventry University," Fenton said.
As a form of appreciation to the students who successfully passed the course on Challenges to Maritime Sustainable Development with a score of 90-100 or reaching A, LSPR gave awards.
The awards were also given to the students with grades above 90 for two Strategic Issue Management and Social Media For Business courses which were held within under cooperation with Edith Cowan University, Australia.
