Langkat, N. Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Police have confiscated 250 kilograms of marijuana following the arrest of two drug suspects in the district of Langkat, North Sumatra, chief of the Langkat police Adj.Sr Com. Dedy Indriyanto said in Stabat on Wednesday.

Dedy Indriyanto said earlier police nabbed two suspects identified as HAJ (53), who is a household wife from the sub-district of the Sei Lepan and IS (40) from the sub-district of Babalan.

Police arrested HAJ with a number of packs of marijuana in her wardrobe.

HAJ told her investigators that she received the marijuana from a man who lived in the sub-district of Pangkalan Susu identified as AZUAR, who is still at large.

AZUAR managed to escape arrest when police came to pick him up, but police found 250 kilograms more of marijuana hidden near his house.

Police are still seeking to track down Azuar, Dedy Indriyanto said.

Meanwhile, a prosecutor at a Denpasar district court, demanded a 7 year jail term with a fine of Rp1 billion for drug suspect Ivani Ahmad Fauzi (23).

Ivani was charged with selling methamphetamine and became a courier in drug trade, public prosecutor I Dewa Narapati said in the Bali capital on Wednesday.

Ivani was nabbed in February this year with sachets of methamphetamine in his wallets.
