President Jokowi welcomed and directly led the ceremony of the handover of credentials from the ambassadors from eight countries to Indonesia.
At the start of the event, State Protocol Chief Andri Hadi reported and introduced the eight ambassadors to President Jokowi.
"Honorable president, please allow us to present eight extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors from friendly countries to submit their credentials," Hadi noted.
The eight ambassadors include Resident Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Indonesia Ulugbek Rozukulov, Resident Ambassador Designate Royal Thai to Indonesia Songphoi Sukchan, Resident Ambassador Designate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang, and Resident Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Armenia to Indonesia Dziunik Aghajanian.
The others were Resident Ambassador Designate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Indonesia Abdul Salik Khan, Non-Resident Ambassador Designate of the Republic of the Philippines to Indonesia Lee Hiong Tan Wae, Non-Resident Ambassador Designate of the Guyana Cooperative Republic to Indonesia domiciled in New Delhi in India David Goldwin Pollard, and Non-Resident Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Burundi to the Republic of Indonesia based in New Delhi, India, Stella Budiriganya.
After the ceremony to hand over the credentials, President Jokowi invited the ambassadors for a discussion on the porch behind Merdeka Palace during a Veranda Talk session.
On the occasion, President Jokowi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno L. P. Marsudi.
