Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo on Monday witnessed the oath-taking ceremony of Prof. Dr. Enny Nurbaningsih, SH, M Hum, who officially served as the Constitutional Justice for the period 2018-2023.

The Constitutional Justice`s oath was made before the president at the Jakarta State Palace.

According to Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media, Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin, Nurbaningsih was appointed based on Presidential Decree Number 134 / P Year 2018 concerning Appointment of Constitutional Judges.

Previously, Widodo decided to choose the person from three names submitted by the Selection Committee (Panel) of the Constitutional Court Judge (MK).

Furthermore, Nurbaningsih will immediately be tasked with replacing Prof. Dr. Maria Farida Indrati, SH, M Hum as the Constitutional Court Judge of the government representative, whose term of office expired on Aug 13, 2018.

Nurbaningsih obtained her doctorate at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University. Prior to this, she was a Professor of State Administration and the Head of the National Law Development Agency (BPHN) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

After the oath of the Constitutional Court`s swearing-in procession, Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla congratulated the Constitutional Court justices who had just been appointed, followed by invited guests.
