Palembang, S Sumatra(ANTARA News) - Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team achieved victory after winning over Chinese Taipei in the 2018 Asian Games match in Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday.

The Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team, reinforced by Ade Candra Rachmawan and Mohammad Ashfiya, won over the Chinese Taipei duo, reinforced by Yajen Hsieh and Chinju Wang, with the score 2-0.

The Indonesian duo first achieved victory in the first set, as they got 21 points, whilst their competitors got 16.

In the second set, they were able to lead again with strong spikes that ended the game with the score that fell in Indonesia`s favor.

With Indonesia`s victory over Chinese Taipei, the Ade Chandra Rachmawan/Mohammad Ashfiya duo got through to the big 16 round, as they emerged champions in the A group.

"Today, we are more relaxed," Rachmawan remarked.

He stated that they will try to be more relaxed and maintain calmness while playing and focus on points.

They are now focusing on maintaining good conditions for the next competition, and they will discuss the strategies with the coach.

Previously, the Ade Candra Rachmawan/Mohammad Ashfiya pair won by a landslide over their competitors from Afghanistan, Ozair Mohammad Asifi/Mohib Jan Ahmadi in two sets, with the score being 21-8 in the first set and 21-7 in the second set.

The pair also defeated the duo from Oman, Haitham/Ahmed, with the score 2-0 for Indonesia.
