Nicke, who was former director for strategic 1 procurement of PLN is summoned as a witness in the investigation with suspect Idrus Marham, a former Social Affairs Minister and secretary general of Golkar party.
KPK already named three suspects in the case including former deputy chairwoman of the Commission VII of the Parliament Eni Maulani Saragih (EMS) also of the Golkar party, and Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo, a business leader, beside Idrus Marham.
Johannes is a shareholder of Blackgold Natural Resources Limited, which is the contractor to build the coal fired power plant of PLN in Riau.
"Today , the schedule is investigation of witness Nicke Widyawati, former strategic 1 procurement director of PT PLN with Idrus Marham as the suspect," head of the KPK publication division Yuyuk Andriati said here on Monday.
Other than Nicke, KPK also summoned three other witnesses including PLN Director of Strategic 2 Procurement Supangkat Iwan Santoso, head of Independent Power Producer (IPP) unit of PT PLN M Ahsin Sidqi, and CEO of Blackgold Natural Resources Rickard Philip Cecil.
KPK arrested Idrus Marhan, who is to stay in the KPK detention cell for at least 20 days, after he was named new suspect on Friday last week .
Idrus is charged with accepting a promise for a US$1.5 million share of the bribe received by Eni from Johannes if the purchase power agreement for the power project PLTU Riau-1 was approved by PLN.
Idrus together with Eni allegedly had received prizes or promise from Johanes, related to the contract to build the PLTU Riau I.
Idrus allegedly knew and had a role in the process of Eni receiving the bribe from Johanes. In November-Desember 2017 Eni allegedly received Rp4 billion in graft from Johanes and in March and June , 2016, Eni already received Rp2.25 billion.
Eni had returned Rp500 million of the bribe money to KPK.
PLN`s President Director Sofyan Basir has also been summoned by KPK as witness . Sofyan denied wrong doing in the project.
