Jambi (ANTARA News) - The administered price of crude palm oil (CPO) in Jambi Province rose slightly by Rp103 to Rp6,538 per kilogram effective from Sept 7 to 13 this year, a local authority said here on Saturday.

The price of kernel palm oil is set by a price formulating team increased Rp68 to Rp5,304 per kg and those of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) also rose to varied levels depending on the quality, said Rakhmat Dharmawan, a member of the team, said.

The quality of FFB is determined by the age of the palm oil trees. The FFB of older trees to a certain level of age is higher in quality.

The prices were set at Rp1,167 per kg for FFB of three-year old trees, at Rp1,245 for FFB of 4 year-old of tree, at Rp1,304 for FFB of 5-year old trees, at Rp1,359 for FFB of 6-years old trees , at Rp1,395 for FFB of 7- year old trees , at Rp1,423 for FFB of 8-year old trees, at Rp1,451 for FFB of 9 year old trees and at Rp1,496 or the highest for FFB of 10-21 year old trees. The prices were set lower for FFB older than 21 years.

The prices were set on approval of the team which is made up of the business leaders, cooperatives and farmer group.

Jambi is one of the country`s largest palm oil producers. Palm oil is one of the largest export earners of Indonesia, which is the world`s largest palm oil producers and exporters.
