They have a strategic role because they have received education and experience in the fields of science and technology while they are in South Korea.
"Strong synergy and collaboration are needed to realize the basic vision of national industrial development and deepen its structure, improve competitiveness in the global arena based on innovation," Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto said through a written statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Airlangga conveyed this when he was a speaker at the Perpika Alumni Association Seminar in Seoul, Saturday afternoon (Sept 8).
In front of more than 50 participants, the Minister said that President Joko Widodo had launched a road map of `Making Indonesia 4.0.` This strategy is a national agenda as readiness to implement the fourth generation industrial revolution.
"The formation of the strategy is intended to support the performance of the national industry in the digital era, so that it can spur inclusive economic growth," he explained.
The aspiration of Making Indonesia 4.0 is to make Indonesia in the top 10 countries with the strongest economy in the world by 2030.
"One of the strategic steps in implementing the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, is the development of digital infrastructure and an innovation ecosystem," said Airlangga.
