Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned oil firm PT Pertamina`s subsidiary, PT Pertmina EP, and its oil contractor have found oil and gas deposits in West Java.

Based on data received by Antara News Agency here on Wednesday, the oil, gas, and condensate reserves were found in areas in West Java.

The reserves were found through exploration drillings of Akasia Maju - 001 (AMJ-001). The AMJ-001 well is located in Bulak Lor Village, Jatibaring subdistrict, Indramayu District.

The well, which began to be drilled on March 20, 2018, used Rig PDSI#38.2/D1000-E, and was finished on Aug 20, 2018.

It was drilled at a depth of 2,517 meters. The production test produces both oil and gas hydrocarbons. One of the production tests can even channel oil up to 1.7 thousand barrels of oil per day (BOPD.

Other test production also channeled gas and condensate.

This finding is good news for PEP and offers opportunities for potential explorations in the mature production stage.

Now, the AMJ-001 well is entering a post-drilling evaluation, and it will have an additional appraisal well to accelerate its development stage to field development.

On a separate occasion, Exploration and New Discovery Project Director of PT Pertamina EP Achmad Alfian Husein explained that the great hope of PEP is to find large reserves in order to be able to support national energy needs. "We will continue to strive and work together to provide the best results for this country," he pointed out.
