The joint team comprises personnel of the regional disaster mitigation agency (BPBD), military, police, and the TNGC, according to Head of the Kuningan`s BPBD office Agus Mauludin on Tuesday.
"Now, it (team) is still working, as the fire has not been completely extinguished," Mauludin noted, adding that the fire had destroyed an estimated 144 hectares and was expected to continue to increase.
Mauludin remarked that news of the fire was received on Sunday (Sept 30) at around 12 p.m. local time.
According to Mauludin, the fire is believed to have originated from the Erpah Cibuntu area and then spread over the Saninten statue.
The fire arose in a hilly area dominated by reeds and shrubs, with conditions of rocky land at an altitude of 500 to 1,300 meters above sea level.
Within a month, the TNGC area was burned down thrice by fire, with some 94 hectares destroyed the first time while around 9.8 hectares during the second fire.
